The Hardest Thing About Being Away

As much as I enjoy what I am doing, the hardest thing about being away is missing Bekkah and Brantley. Not being there for football games, camping trips, and birthdays just plain stinks! I constantly joke with my wife that the only thing I really don't miss is her stressing out because of school. She'll probably want to hurt me when she sees this, but she should know that I would give anything to be there with her during her last year of nursing school.
Brantley is still enjoying football, even though the Bulldogs don't win to many. I am still greatful that he is having fun and learning teamwork. I look forward to the day when I can watch him play.
Bekkah is still in school, and I know that she is looking forward to the end of the semester. I love the fact that she allways stresses about tests, and papers, but she allways does extremely well on them.

Life without my best friend

Today was one of those "Blah" days. I couldn't seem to get myself motivated to do anything else but sit in front of the computer and miss my husband. Life is difficult with him gone but difficult in a weird kind of way. Dinner at the table is depressing, going on walks is a bummer, and church is just a sob story. I love doing all these things but I feel so weird doing it without my best friend. In a different respect, him being gone has given me the opportunity to keep my head in the books. Rodrigo is my biggest distraction. I cant think of anything more fun than hanging out with him and Brantley. So studying in nursing school has been easier with him gone and he will be home right in time for graduation. I guess that is a plus for him!

Brantley is doing great and growing up so fast. His new project has been to grow his hair out until his Dad comes home. Brantley loves it because it is torture for his dad to see through the webcam. I have to say I do get a good laugh over it, Brantley has this unrelenting mischievous laugh when his dad says something about it. Brantley will do anything to get a rise out of his Daddy. Brantley also finished scout camp last week. He loved every minute of it. What more can a boy ask for? no girls, guns, fishing, sling shots, bow and arrows, and whatever else they did. Baseball is over for the summer and i miss it already but the real fun begins this fall. FOOTBALL! Hopefully Brantley and I can stay busy outdoors this summer to keep us busy till football starts.

Rodrigo is doing very well under the circumstances. I think they work the soldiers to the max but it is war. I love getting all the pictures of him over in Afghanistan. He is sooooooo handsome and I love that tough look. Rodrigo does not talk about what goes on over there too much, He says I can read his Journal when he gets home. He does talk about church over there and that was interesting but I will save all that for his blog entry.
